Is it safe to pull off a skin mole?

A skin mole should be removed under the supervision of a medical professional, warns WebMD. Pulling off the skin mole at home with nail clippers, lotions or pastes can cause scarring, excessive bleeding and infections.
Medical professionals remove skin moles by numbing the skin and cutting the mole with surgical scissors or a scalpel or burning it off with electric currents, explains WebMD. Physicians may also remove skin moles by freezing the mole with liquid nitrogen and allowing the mole to fall off naturally, form a blister, and heal on its own. Patients rarely develop scars or skin damage when skin moles are removed professionally.
