Gasoline with an octane rating of 100 is safe to use in an Acura RDX engine as well as other automobile engines. It is specially formulated for supercharged and turbocharged engine applications, and contains additives designed to minimize fuel system and engine deposits.
Acura recommends that its 2015 RDX, which features a 3.5-liter V-6 engine capable of 273 horsepower at 6,200 revolutions per minute, uses premium unleaded gas with a 91 octane rating. The RDX has an EPA-rated fuel economy rating in two-wheel drive of 20 miles per gallon in city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway, thus having a combined rating of 23. The gas mileage for all driving conditions is less when all-wheel drive is engaged.
