It is safe to use water when cleaning vinyl plank flooring except during the first three days after installation. Vinyl flooring should only be spot-cleaned during the first three days, but after that it is safe to use water.
To clean with water, start by sweeping or vacuuming floors to remove loose dirt. Then, use a sponge mop in warm water to clean. For tougher dirt, try using an apple cider vinegar solution by mixing 1 cup vinegar with 1 gallon of warm water. To maintain vinyl floors, sweep at least once a week and wipe up spills promptly to avoid staining.
