The SAT is a standardized test widely recognized as a college admission test. It is accepted by colleges on a global level. SAT is short for Scholastic Aptitude Test or Scholastic Assessment Test.
The SAT is generally taken during the last two years of high school. It allows a potential college student to demonstrate knowledge in reading, writing and math.
In 1901, a group of the top American universities sought a universal way to determine if students were ready for the work done at the college level. The College Entrance Examination Board was formed, and the first standardized exam was administered.
