How do you read measurements on a syringe?
By Forinfos - 17/05/2026 - 0 comments
To read a syringe, first look at the type of measurements listed on the barrel and the smaller marks between each label. Read the measurement that lines up with the edge of the rubber stopper. Larger doses of medicine require syringes with larger barrels and less distance between each mark.
For example, the smallest marks on a 5 mL syringe may represent 0.2 mL each, while the marks on a 0.5 mL syringe represent only 0.01 mL. This helps doctors and patients measure small doses of medicine as precisely as possible. At these levels, even a small error can lead to a dangerous overdose.
