The only holiday on which most Shopko stores are completely closed is Christmas Day. While Shopko stores are typically closed on Thanksgiving Day, as of 2015, they open at 6:00 p.m. as a precursor to Black Friday sales.

Shopko stores set their holiday hours independently. In general, while Shopko stores are open on holidays, they tend to open later and close earlier than on normal shopping days. The holidays on which Shopko stores are open include New Year's Day, New Year's Eve, Martin Luther King Day, Columbus Day and Christmas Eve. In Canada, some Shopko stores may be open on Victoria Day, but shoppers should call ahead to verify opening hours.
