What are Shorkie breeders?

Shorkie breeders are people who breed shorkie dogs. A shorkie is not a purebred dog, it is a cross between a Yorkshire terrier and a Shih Tzu. The dogs are often referred to as shorkie tzu or Yorkie tzu.

Shorkies may resemble Yorkies, Shih Tzus or a mixture of both. Yorkies are smaller than Shih Tzus in general, often less than 7 pounds when fully grown. Shih Tzus can weigh up to 16 pounds. Shorkies when grown fall somewhere in the middle of the 7-to-16-pound weight range. Shorkie coat colors may be tan, cream, black or blue and often are a combination of two or three of these.
