Consumer Reports offers information on medical practitioners across the US and includes information about licensing, any disciplinary action, hospital ratings and reviews, malpractice claims, board certification and reviews about support staff. All of these factors can be considered choosing a doctor.

Many doctors may have one or two malpractice claims, but the red flag is there when doctors have several. When choosing a doctor, it's also helpful to consider what drug reps a doctor uses because this may influence his or her prescription choices.
