A person with a bleeding mole should be worried as it may indicate a serious type of skin cancer. Therefore, visiting a doctor or a dermatologist as soon as possible is advisable.
Bleeding may indicate that the moles have turned into melanomas. However, a common mole rarely turns into a melanoma, as stated by the National Cancer Institute. A mole may change is size, shape and color. It may also become red and itchy. A person who has over 50 common moles has a risk of getting melanoma. Most people usually have about 10 to 40 moles, which is normal, as stated by AAD.
