When should you get teeth caps?

According to WebMD, people should get teeth caps, also called dental crowns, when they have broken, cracked, discolored, misshapen or worn teeth. Dental crowns can also be used to anchor dental bridges, support teeth that contain more filling than bone, and cap dental implants, as well as for cosmetic reasons.
WebMD explains that a pediatric dentist may recommend a stainless steel crown for a child whose teeth are at high risk of decay or to save a tooth that is too damaged to be filled. Dental crowns can also save children from frequent sedation procedures stemming from their inability to keep up with dental care procedures.
