When should you plant beets?
By Forinfos - 22/12/2025 - 0 comments
Beets do well in cool temperatures, so the best time to plant them is during the spring or fall months. Beets can be grown in both indoor and outdoor environments. Red table, white, storage and mangel beets have different seasonal needs.
For the spring harvest, it's important to plant beet seeds before the last spring frost date. Planting beets for the fall harvest should be done 10 to 12 weeks before the first expected frost. Beet seeds germinate well in cool soil, but they sprout best in temperatures above 48 degrees Fahrenheit. Timing, temperature and soil quality dictate the success of a beet crop.
