According to Catster, the Snowshoe cat is a crossbreed of the American shorthair and the Siamese cat. The Showshoe was first bred in the United States during the early1960s.

Reaching about 10 to 12 pounds with a firm, muscular body tone, the Snowshoe bears a wedge-shaped head and walnut-shaped blue eyes. The short, soft coat may display any of the traditional Siamese colors. They are often mitted or bicolor in pattern. Showshoes are easily identified by the white inverted V at the nose and four white boots. Their outgoing, affectionate personalities and tendency to get along with other cats makes them popular among feline lovers.
