Where is Sochi located?

Sochi is a coastal city and port situated on the south western part of Russia, close to Georgia-Russia border. It is located 844.25 miles from Moscow, along the Black Sea; it stretches for approximately 90 miles across the sea.

Sochi is the largest resort city in Russia, measuring 176.77 square kilometers or 68.25 square miles. As per 2010 census, the city had a population of 343,334 residents. It has a subtropical climate characterized by warm to hot summers and mild winters.

Apart from hosting 22nd Winter Olympics Games between the 7th and 23rd of February 2014, Sochi has been named one of the host cities of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Sochi city also plans to host the Russian Grand Prix from 2014 to at least 2020.
