Southwest Airlines offers reduced airfare to active military personnel and to their dependents. While the first two checked bags are free for any passenger, Southwest Airlines waives fees for the third checked bag, oversize bags or overweight bags for military traveling on active duty.
Reduced rates for active military personnel are not listed online, but can be booked by calling Southwest Airlines directly at 800-435-9792. Valid military identification is required at check-in. Southwest Airlines waives checked bag fees for military traveling on active duty or nonactive military with permanent change of station orders. Southwest Airlines does not offer military discounts for veterans.
