The Miz successfully defended his title by defeating John Cena in the championship match at Wrestlemania XXVII in 2011. The Rock got involved in the match by hitting Cena from behind with his Rock Bottom move. This allowed The Miz to pin Cena for the win

After the championship match was over, The Rock felled The Miz with his People's Elbow move. The match was the culmination of a two-month long feud in which both Cena and The Miz derided The Rock for leaving WWE in favor of his film career. The Rock was acting as host for the event, but he got involved in the match after it initially ended in a double-count out.
