Provide support for your baby, and hold her belly against you while aligning her mouth with your nipple. Gently tilt her head backwards, and guide your nipple with the other hand. Maintain support while she breastfeeds, and observe her suckling pattern, correcting it as needed.

When approaching her mouth, stroke your nipple against her lower lip, and make certain her mouth is wide before putting the nipple inside. Then, gently tilt her head forward, ensuring that she has latched onto your nipple and 1.5 inches of the areola. Hold her closely with your arm, and use a pillow for additional support.
