The D16y8 is a variant of Honda's D series engines and has a stock output of 127 crank horse power and 107 crank torque. The D16y8 was available in select Honda's such as the Del Sol and the Civic between 1996 and 2000. The D16y8 also contained Honda's patented VTEC (Variable Valve Timing-and Electric Control) technology.
The D series engines were manufactured between 1984 to 2005 and were used in several different Honda models. There are six variations of the D series engine, ranging in size from 1.2 liters to 1.7 liters. These engines combined fuel efficiency as well as power output and have been used in a variety of different cars, such as the Honda Civic and the earlier Acura Integras.
