Sam's Club, BJs Wholesale Club and Costco are similar to Gordon Food Service, as they all offer products in bulk. All of these stores are open to both private and business customers.

Unlike some bulk discount stores, Gordon Food Service does not charge a membership fee to customers. The other major warehouse stores all require a membership fee, although customers can usually try out these stores at no additional cost during special preview days that do not require membership.

Although Gordon Food Service is popular among restaurants and other food service facilities, private customers also enjoy shopping there because of the store's reasonable prices on bulk purchases.
