How strong is block wall construction?
By Forinfos - 13/03/2025 - 0 comments
With proper construction, concrete block walls are stronger than poured concrete. Builders can increase the strength of block walls by filling them with concrete and reinforcement steel. However, concrete blocks can suffer water damage with incorrect construction in basement or foundation walls.
The blocks are typically 8 inches in width and height and 16 inches long. While block wall construction is quick, construction with wood is faster. The resulting wall has an industrial look that requires applying stucco or furring strips and drywall for a more traditional look. Concrete block walls are generally heavier than those built of wood and are more expensive.
