What is Sweetpacks?

SweetPacks is a toolbar that is considered adware, a malicious software program that is commonly bundled with other third party programs. SweetPacks is typically installed during the download of another free program, replacing the default browser and search engine with its own.

SweetPacks is not technically considered a computer virus. Instead, it is considered a browser hijacker. Users complain it is difficult to remove due to the large amount of components it installs. An anti-malware program is often required to uninstall the program fully, as removing every component by hand is extremely difficult and time-consuming. Users should cancel installation of any program that lists SweetPacks in its license agreement.
