How tall is a cheetah?
By Forinfos - 11/05/2026 - 0 comments
A grown cheetah averages 2.5 to 3 feet tall at the shoulder. Cheetahs are 3.5 to 4.5 feet long and can weigh up to 140 pounds.
Cheetahs are built for speed; their bodies are close to the ground and streamlined, with strong hind legs to propel them forward. At a full spring, cheetahs reach speeds of 70 miles per hour, and they can accelerate to this top speed extremely rapidly. They go from a standstill to 60 miles per hour in only 3 seconds.
Cheetahs are extremely endangered. As of 2014, an estimated 7,000 to 12,000 cheetahs remain in the wild. Their numbers have dwindled severely as a result of habitat loss.
