What does the Ookla speed test measure?
By Forinfos - 05/11/2025 - 0 comments
The Ookla speed test measures the connection data rate of an Internet connection through a web browser. The speed test measures both bandwidth and latency.
The Ookla speed test begins by locating a nearby server by finding the lowest ping. Once a nearby server is located, the server sends packets of information to the computer running the test, measuring the connection's download speed. Next, the test has the computer send packets back to the server, measuring the connection's upload speed. Once the test is completed, the speed test provides the average download and upload speeds. The speed test also allows the user to share results with other users.
