Some things to do in Solvang, California, are visiting a winery, bike riding and shopping. People refer to Solvang as the "Dutch Capital of America" because the town's buildings look like a traditional Dutch village, and the shops in town offer European wares, making it a unique experience.

As of 2015, the town of Solvang and the surrounding area offers visitors more than a dozen wine tasting rooms and more than 80 wineries to visit and tour. In town, the Old Mission Santa Ines is one of the 21 California missions built by Spanish Franciscan priests and Father Junipero Serra from 1769 to 1836.
