What time zone is Germany in?

During late October on through late March, Germany uses Central European Time, or CET. For the remaining period of time, Germany is in the Central European Summer Time Zone.

The entire country of Germany is under one time zone. This zone is one hour ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. Starting in March and continuing through the last Sunday in October, German clocks are turned one hour ahead to account for daylight savings. This places them on Central European Summer Time, or CEST. CEST is two hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. Although these are, technically, two different time zones, their usage is seasonal and not based on geographic borders. CET is considered standard time in Germany.
