Why does baking soda help bee stings?
By Forinfos - 30/05/2025 - 0 comments
A paste of baking soda, vinegar and water helps to neutralize the acid present in bee stings. The solution may be applied to the wound for up to 30 minutes to effectively reduce pain and swelling, notes Mother Earth News.
Other home remedies include, ice, honey, crushed garlic, lavender essential oil and plantain. Prior to using any home remedy, patients are advised to clean the wound with soap and cool water to help remove infection-causing bacteria, according to Mother Earth News. Up to three percent of victims may experience anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic reaction; individuals exhibiting shortness of breath, hives or feelings of faintness or dizziness should seek medical care immediately.
