What are some of the types of human adaptation?

Examples of the types of human adaptation include the development of legs and feet, lactose intolerance and skin pigmentation. Each of these adaptations manifested as a result of evolution.
Scientists believe that humans who are unable to properly digest the sugar found in milk developed a mutation in the lactose gene. Millions of years ago, most humans had dark skin as a result of spending all day outside in bright sunlight. Today, humans have adapted to have lighter skin tones because they don't require as much skin protection. Evidence suggests that humans evolved to walk on two legs because it was more efficient and used less energy than walking on all four.
