Some of the highest-paid actors on TV make millions of dollars every year, as of January 2016. However, actors in recurring and guest roles make significantly less, averaging about $40 per hour.

Cast members of "The Big Bang Theory" are some of the highest-paid actors on TV, with Jim Parsons making over $29 million per year for his role as Sheldon Cooper. Parsons's fellow cast members, including Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg and Kaley Cuoco, make over $20 million per year. Though these actors and other major stars earn millions for TV work, most actors make around $60,000 per year, appearing in supporting and guest roles.
