What does Univision mean?

Univision is the name of a Spanish American broadcast television network. The network airs a variety of programs including news, entertainment, sports, sitcoms, Spanish films, soap operas, reality and drama series.

Founded in Los Angeles in 1962, Univision is the first network in the United States to broadcast in another language other than English. According to Nielsen Media Research, the network has the largest audience of Spanish language viewers in the world with their target being Hispanic Americans. The network currently has its headquarters in New York City with studios and operations in Miami. The channel is available on cable and satellite television.
