What are USCCB daily readings?

USCCB readings are selections from the Bible for daily and Sunday masses. Daily mass includes one reading from the Old Testament, one Psalm and a gospel reading. Sunday mass includes one reading from the Old Testament, a Psalm, a reading from the epistles, and a gospel reading.

The church divides the Catholic mass between the Liturgy of the Word, when a priest reads selections from the Bible to the congregation, and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The high point of the Liturgy of the Word is the gospel reading, introduced with an acclamation. The congregation stands as a sign of honor and reverence.
