Using a swimming pool clarifier simply involves putting a few ounces of the clarifying solution in the pool every day until the pool is clear. When a swimming pool clarifier is being used, the pool filter should be kept running around the clock.

Swimming pool clarifiers work by coagulating tiny particles in the water until they become big enough for the pool filter to catch them. A pool will clear more quickly if the main drain is on and if people swim in the pool so as to kick up the particles resting on the bottom of the pool. If the pool has no main drain, a manual pool vacuum should be set upside down at the bottom of the pool.
