What are some varieties of heirloom tomatoes?

Some varieties of heirloom tomatoes include Beefsteak and Green Zebra. A couple of other varieties are Black Krim and Oxacan Jewel.

Beefsteak tomatoes are characterized by their pink and red color and the small seed compartments throughout the fruit. They are the most common type of heirloom tomato grown. Green Zebra tomatoes have green and yellow stripes and taste slightly tarter than common tomatoes. When they are ripe, they have a dark green skin.

Black Krim tomatoes are dark red or almost brown in appearance and originate from the Black Sea region on the Crimean Peninsula. The Oxacan Jewel tomato is golden with slight red stripes. It has a rich and fruity taste that is similar to melon.
