Where is Volcan, Panama?

Volcan, Panama, is a small mountain village in the Chiriqui province in western Panama, near the Costa Rican border. As of 2014, it has come to be regarded as an inexpensive haven for expatriates and tourists looking for an out-of-the-way destination.

The Chiriqui province is known for the Baru volcano. The Volcan Baru National Park is a major destination for visitors to Chiriqui. It is a diverse area that includes mountains, rain forests and ocean. It is a favorite of many for its climate, which remains almost constantly in the range of 60 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Another popular destination in the area, La Amistad Park, is shared with neighboring Costa Rica.
