What is waterless antifreeze?

By Forinfos - 16/01/2026 - 0 comments

Evans Waterless Engine Coolants manufactures a waterless coolant that also functions as an antifreeze in cold weather. The antifreeze component of the formula is propylene glyclol, which freezes at 40 degrees below zero.

Evans waterless coolant thus offers some advantage over water and 50/50 ethylene glycol blends, which both freeze at a higher temperature. The company also claims that their coolant removes the possibility of damage from electrolysis, corrosion, water pump cavitation and liner pitting. In addition to propylene glycol, the coolant contains a proprietary inhibitor package. Potential disadvantages of the Evans brand are that it is more expensive than other types of coolant and cannot be replaced with more than 5 percent water in an emergency.
