What is the way to open a PWI file?

PWI files can be opened using Microsoft Word. This file extension is typically associated with Pocket Word, Note Taker and Ink Writer, which are all applications developed by windows for cellphones, PDAs and PCs running Windows Mobile.

The PWI file can be converted into a Word document by simply changing the "*.pwi" extension to "*.docx." Doing this does not affect the original file in any way. Microsoft outlook and some older versions of Microsoft Works can also be used to open Pocket Word documents. Microsoft OneNote can be used to read handwritten text and notes in PWI files. Although PWI files are similar to Microsoft Word documents, they do not support features like comments, footer and headers.
