What is a Weeping Higan cherry tree?
By Forinfos - 06/04/2025 - 0 comments
The weeping Higan cherry tree is a commonly grafted cherry tree with graceful, weeping blooms. Its branches, or crown, feature light pink blossoms in the spring, green leaves in the summer and red leaves in the fall. They are bare in the winter.
The spread of a weeping Higan depends on the tree's height and is typically between 15 and 25 feet. It prefers full sun, is moderately drought-tolerant, and grows in most soils as long as they are well drained. Prune weeping Higan cherry trees when they are dormant with no signs of visible growth, just prior to the growing season; pruning while there are blooms on the tree can cause shock.
