What is the most weight ever lifted?

As of October 2014, the world record for the raw deadlift is 1016.33 pounds. The mark was set by 31-year-old Icelander Benedikt Magnusson at The Strongest Man Competition in August 2014 in England, eclipsing his previous world record of 981 pounds.
Two records for the deadlift are measured: raw and equipped. Equipped deadlifts are performed with the aid of a deadlift suit. While the extra gear helps in the lift, Magnusson's raw mark still eclipses the current equipped landmark. That record is a 1,009-pound lift by Englishman Andy Bolton, who was the first man ever to hit the 1,000-pound deadlift mark in a powerlifting competition.
