There is no third season of the British period drama "The Paradise" because the BBC cancelled the series after the final episode of the second season. The reason for the cancellation was to make room for new shows in production, according to Rebecca Davison of the Daily Mail.
The BBC costume drama was an adaptation of Emile Zola’s 1883 novel "Au Bonheur des Dames," or "The Ladies’ Paradise," which was originally part of Zola’s Rougon-Macquart series. The primary writer for the first two seasons was series creator Ben Gallagher.
"The Paradise," which starred Sarah Lancashire, Emun Elliott and Joanna Vanderham, was shown on PBS in the United States.
