Cape Alava, located in Clallam County, Washington, is the westernmost point in the continental United States. The cape has a longitude of 124° 44' 11.8" W and is accessible by a 3-mile boardwalk hike from a ranger station.
Cape Alava is situated in Olympic National Park and the Ozette Indian Reservation near the Pacific Ocean. It was named after the Spanish commissioner José Manuel de Ãlava.
The landscape of Cape Alava is rocky; however, it is surrounded by beaches with lush marine and animal life. In the late spring and summer, migrating grey whales may be spotted off the coast of Cape Alava.
