What wine goes with tilapia?

Chenin blanc, sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio and other crisp, white wines go well with tilapia. For something a little different, a Greek assyrtiko works nicely, and for something more simple, an unoaked Chardonnay works well.
When pairing wine with fish, the type of fish is an important consideration. Because tilapia is a mild-flavored white fish similar in nature to flounder and halibut, dry white wines work best. The important thing to remember is not to pair something too strong or too mild with the fish. The flavor of the wine should complement the flavor of the fish, and vice versa.
