What is Yanomami food?

The Yanomami's food consists of tapirs, deer, monkeys, nuts, insect larvae, shellfish, wild honey, fish, bananas, fruits and vegetables. Only men can hunt and kill game and no hunter can eat the meat of his prey, instead he must share it with friends and family.

The Yanomami are a group of indigenous people who live in the Amazon rainforest, and as of 2014 their total population consists of under 40,000 people. The Yanomami live in villages of 50 to 400 people spread across Venezuela and Brazil and depend on the resources of the rainforest. Due to precious minerals under their land, miners are invading Yanomami land, bringing diseases and polluting the soil and water.
