In 1990, Mercedes-Benz debuted the 190 E Evolution II, the top performer in the 190 series of models. The Evolution II surpassed the 1989 Evolution I in both power and styling, and the model finished in the top three from 1990 to 1993 in the German Touring Car Masters.

Mercedes-Benz designed the car for racing, so the Evolution II features a 235 horsepower engine, giving it over 20 percent more power than the Evolution I. It can reach top speeds of over 150 miles per hour. A front and rear body kit, arched fenders and a large spoiler improve its aerodynamics while making it boldly stylish.
