In 2011, the total median income among all census families in the Canadian province of Ontario was $73,290. Middle-income families earned around that much in a year, while lower-income families earned below the median. Higher-income families had incomes above the median value.

As of 2014, 2011 is the most recent year for which this statistical information is available. Ontario families consisting of a couple, with or without children, earned significantly more than single-parent Ontario families. In Canada as a whole, between 2007 and 2011, the average yearly income after tax was $31,400 for unattached individuals and $79,600 for economic families consisting of two or more adults.
