Which alcoholic drinks are lowest in sugar?

Wine and spirits, such as gin, vodka and whiskey, are low-sugar alcoholic beverages. These two types of beverages have little to no fructose in them.

Wine contains low fructose levels due to the grape's fermenting process. It is the fructose in the grapes that ferments to become the alcohol, rendering the wine nearly sugarless. Dry wine that has fermented longer has less than one gram of sugar per litre. Red wine contains less than white wine.

Spirits such as gin, vodka, and whiskey contain little sugar. Drinkers should be cautious when ordering mixed drinks. Although these alcohols are low in sugar, the mixers often used are not.
