Does Alka Seltzer make seagulls explode?

Proponents of the myth contend that seagulls' inability to pass gas means they cannot tolerate the Alka Seltzer. However, seagull biology contradicts this assertion. Similarly, birds do not explode when they eat uncooked rice kernels.
