Where do aye-ayes live?

The aye-aye is a species of lemur that lives in Madagascar, primarily along the east coast of the island. Their preferred habitat is the rain forest, where they spend most of their lives in the trees.
The aye-aye uses echolocation to find the insects that make up most of its diet. It taps trees with its finger and listens to the echo to locate grubs and larvae. Aye-ayes also eat fruit like coconuts. According to National Geographic, the aye-aye is critically endangered because of habitat loss, as well as overhunting by locals who believe that the creatures are bad luck and should be killed on sight.
