Do bed bugs live inside wood?

Some bedbugs live inside wood. Because of their small size, they can fit inside tiny crevices in mattresses, box springs, headboards, sofas and bed frames. They are attracted to places where people sleep and have an affinity for wood and fabric furniture.

A thorough inspection of mattresses and furniture is necessary to find bedbugs' hiding places. Screw holes and slats are also common places where these bugs tend to hide. Nightstands should be emptied and turned upside down. Bedbugs also commonly hide under wall-to-wall carpeting, especially behind beds, as well as behind pictures and inside electronic devices, such as clocks.
