Where do bed bugs hide?

Common hiding places for bed bugs include the crevices of mattresses, box springs, headboards and bed frames. In an early bed bug infestation, they typically live and hide very close to where they feed, such as a bed, chair or couch.

However, if allowed to persist, they can disperse throughout a dwelling, making extermination more difficult. Bed bugs, which feed on human blood, feed at night and typically find hiding spots to make the journey to food quick and easy. Bed bugs do not live on people; instead, they bite a person to feed and then crawl to another location to digest their meal.
