Do bedbugs fly?

Bedbugs do not fly. Bedbugs are wingless insects that move from host to host by crawling. Bedbugs can jump, but only over very short distances.

Bedbugs are transported in luggage, purses or other items that have been in an area where bedbugs are present. Female bedbugs lay a few eggs a day, which hatch into nymphs before becoming an adult. These adults can then reproduce as well.

Bedbugs like to hide in places such as crevices, dark spaces, in the box spring or in sheets. Bedbug infestations should be treated by a professional, as most bedbugs are resistant to typical household bug sprays.
