It houses the Mariana Trench, which contains Challenger Deep, the deepest point on the earth at approximately 35,840 feet below sea level. The Atlantic Ocean is the second largest ocean, followed by the Southern Ocean and the Arctic Ocean. Altogether, about 71% of the earth is covered by oceans.
