Chia Pets are terracotta bases molded into characters with grooves for planting moistened chia seeds. Once the seeds sprout, the plant forms the Chia Pet's hair.

Chia Pets come in many different designs, including licensed characters such as Looney Tunes, The Simpsons, and Duck Dynasty. The Chia line includes other products such as gardens, cat grass planters and trees. Chia Cuddlies are plush toys with fabric chia in place of real chia.
